Retrospect 2004

The Time Magazine has picked person of the year. They (American edition) choose always the person of the year from pool of politicians, millionaires and sometime army generals. This is so predictable and unjust. Anyhow here is my take of Year 2004.

Movie: Hotel Rwanda (2004)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395169/
Accompanied with Roméo Dallaire “Shake Hands with the Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda”, it is very frustrating to see Peacekeeping (Peacemaking is more precise) is often jeopardized by bureaucracy of United Nation aristocrat hierarchy.

Book:
A Complicated Kindness (Miriam Toews)
For this Manitoba writer’s struggle with Mennonite society, small town power–politics and human dynamics. It makes me to think about an ex-Hutterite friend back home.
